Pricing below is for a single subject portrait (one pet drawn, head with a portion of chest fading out). Additional pets will be an additional 25% each. For example an 10"X14" with one dog is $190. 25% of that is $47.50 so a 10"X14" with two dogs would be $237.50. If you are wanting a full body drawing please scroll below the first price list to see pricing options for a single pet full body drawing. Full body drawings can include a portion of the ground, blanket, etc. that the animal is on for no additional fee. If you have more than three pets to be drawn please contact me for an additional discount on pricing. A 2 pet portrait requires a minimum 9"X12" portrait, 3 pets requires a minimum 10"X14". If you are wanting a background included please contact me for pricing options.
To book a commission a 50% non-refundable deposit must be paid. Once the deposit has been received the commission will be officially booked and put in line to be drawn. I try to allow a minimum of two weeks for each portrait and will give you an estimated completion date based on how far out I am booked when you contact me. If for any unlikely reason, I am required to cancel a commission you will receive a full refund of any deposit paid.
Payments can be made through Zelle, Cashapp, and Venmo currently.
My ability to provide a detailed portrait is dependent on the quality of reference photo I receive. Please try to ensure your reference photo is clear and well lit. What I see is generally what you get.
Each portrait is mounted on backing board and matted so it is ready to go in a frame when you receive it.
"Why is it so expensive? It's just a drawing."
My prices are actually very low compared to most colored pencil artists. In fact, an 8"X10" drawing averages well over $400 for most artists. However, I still consider myself a student so price accordingly. Each drawing easily takes 25 hours or more (some exceeding 50 hours!). The materials I use aren't just basic pencil and paper. All of the materials I use are museum quality to ensure the longevity of your portrait. The papers wont yellow, degrade, and fade. The pencils are all very lightfast ensuring they don't fade away over the years. These are not cheap materials to purchase. The papers I use can range from $2-$4 or more per sheet, pencils are easily $2-$5 for EACH pencil. Then there is all of the time I put in on the business side, the social media, the marketing, the planning, and the list goes on. In the end, I am paying myself less than $4 an hour. This isn't a side hobby, this is in fact my full time work. My time, tools, and talent are why I charge what I do and I know this unfortunately isn't within everyone's budget, but is absolutely necessary for me to make any kind of money to be able to continue to provide the art that I do.
